1. Wear proper college shoes.
First impression counts, and footwear define you. Make sure you have the perfect pair to highlight whether you're smart, studious or simply out there to have fun.
2. High school shirts are complete no no.
Don't waltz into the class room wearing shirts with your high school name, graduation date, class motto and anything related to it. Make a statement that you are ready for new beginnings.
3. Pay attention.
Specially if you sit in the front row. Don't go facebook on your laptop or play tetris.
4. If you're sick, try another day.
College is from grown ups. and you're allowed to make some decisions for yourself. You don't need a note from your parents to skip a day at the college.
5. Move on from childhood sweethearts.
It's tough, agreed, but trust me long distance relationships never work. Unless you two are together in the college, don't wait till thanksgiving to break-up. It's bound to happen, do it now.
6. Don't talk or eat out loud.
Before people make friends, they start subtracting those who annoy them, and speaking too loudly or making irritating sound while eating at public places is a big turn-off. please please please avoid it.
7. Don't be a show-off.
Keep your high school GPA, sports accomplishments, SAT/ACT scores and awards to yourself only. Oh, you were in an AP class? or a prom queen? No one cares.
